I recently had the pleasure of photographing a stunning Big Sur wedding at Wind and Sea Estate, a venue that perfectly captures the breathtaking beauty of the California coastline. Vivian and Christopher's love story began in Laguna Beach in 2014, where they met at a friend's birthday party. Their instant connection led to long conversations that lasted into the early morning. Vivian immediately knew she had found her future husband, even telling her friends that same night! For Christopher, it took a little longer to realize he had met his match, but when he did, their love story took off, and four years later, he proposed in beautiful Napa Valley.
When it came time to plan their wedding, they were faced with the challenges of navigating COVID restrictions. But, in true Vivian and Christopher fashion, they kept their focus on what mattered most: celebrating their love surrounded by their closest family and friends. Their intimate wedding at Wind and Sea in Big Sur perfectly reflected their desire for simplicity and connection. The stunning ocean views and the private, serene setting of this Big Sur wedding venue created the perfect backdrop for their special day.
The proposal itself was magical and full of surprises. Celebrating their four-year anniversary in Napa Valley, Vivian was caught off guard when Christopher popped the question. It wasn’t unusual for them to take trips and celebrate life, so the proposal came as a joyful, unexpected moment in the middle of an already wonderful vacation.
Vivian and Christopher’s favorite thing about each other says so much about the bond they share. For Christopher, it’s Vivian’s spirit, intelligence, and drive. For Vivian, it’s Christopher’s commitment, dedication, and thoughtfulness. As a Big Sur wedding photographer, I was honored to capture their love at Wind and Sea Estate, a venue that allowed their story to shine through the beautiful landscape.
Their advice to future brides? “Have fun with it! Don’t sweat the small stuff. Remember that your wedding is a celebration of your marriage, and everything else is just an added bonus.”
